Tokyo Revengers Exhibition Opens in Korea to Enthusiastic Reception
Exclusive Limited-Edition Merchandise and Collaboration Cafe
Special Postcard Giveaway Featuring Iconic Manga Scenes
The highly popular manga Tokyo Revengers exhibition made its grand debut in Korea on Saturday, March 29.
Created by Ken Wakui, Tokyo Revengers was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Magazine, published by Japan's leading publisher Kodansha, from 2017 to November 2022, concluding with a total of 31 volumes. The manga has surpassed 80 million copies in circulation, cementing its immense popularity.
This exhibition, featuring original artwork from the manga, first launched at Tokyo City View (Roppongi Hills Mori Tower) before traveling to major Japanese cities such as Osaka, Fukuoka, Nagoya, and Sapporo. Now, it has made its way overseas for the first time, with Korea being the inaugural stop of its international tour.
The exhibition generated significant buzz in Japan when Ken Wakui unveiled brand-new illustrations created specifically for the event. Korean fans eagerly anticipated these exclusive illustrations, which are prominently displayed at the entrance of the exhibition.
The display includes life-sized versions of 11 newly illustrated characters, as well as actual costume reproductions of Takemichi Hanagaki and Manjiro Sano (Mikey), offering visitors a visually immersive experience. The exhibition also features over 50 replica manga panels, video content, life-sized 3D figures of Takemichi and Mikey, a chalkboard explanation by Takemichi’s friend Yamagishi, and a special display of Draken’s well-defined abs—delivering a diverse and engaging showcase.
Fans of Tokyo Revengers were also eager to explore the exclusive merchandise. In addition to official goods imported from Japan, such as art books, random stickers, tapestries, bottles, and character memo pads, the Korean exhibition offers exclusive limited-edition items, including random can badges, magnets, keyrings, acrylic stands, and reusable bags.
The collaboration cafe was another highlight of the exhibition, drawing enthusiastic responses from visitors. The menu includes character-printed macarons, dorayaki (a favorite treat of Mikey), and drinks inspired by the personalities of various characters, adding an extra layer of immersion for fans.
Additionally, visitors received special perks. Every attendee was gifted a randomly selected postcard from a set of seven iconic manga scenes, while collaboration cafe customers received a coaster, chosen at random from a collection of eight designs with each menu order. Since these items were not available for purchase separately, they became highly coveted collector’s items among fans.
The Tokyo Revengers Exhibition will be held at DUEX Hongdae Hall 1 from March 29 to June 29, offering fans three months to experience this one-of-a-kind event.
